| | Yesterday, Steve and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. Wow. How did that even happen? It seems like just yesterday I was walking down the aisle with my eyes focused on my handsome groom. And now, here it is 5 years later - we are considered by most people to be grown ups and we have our own baby girl.
We decided that we needed to get out to celebrate, so we asked Grandma and Grandpa Wiedman to come babysit for us. Unsurprisingly, they said yes. So, they came over to watch the Bug and we headed out.
This was quite significant for me, as I have been on bed rest for several weeks (almost 6 weeks ago) and have not really gotten out of the house except to go to the hospital and dr. offices. It was truly bizarre to put on real clothes and get in the car!
We headed over to Edwardsville, where we spent some time at Borders (a favorite pastime of ours - we've done this since we started dating) and then head over to Q'doba for dinner. Delicious. And it was so nice out we ate outside. Glorious! We finished up the evening by watching Angels and Demons. Since the first showing was sold out except for the front row (no thank you), we went to a showing 40 minutes later than planned. It gave us plenty of time to sit in the theater and reminisce on the past 5 years of our lives together. It was quite enjoyable. The movie was also good - I love me some Tom Hanks!
It was a good night - good to be out of the house, good to have time with my hubs. We got home and found that little Miss Aubrey had slept the majority of the time we were gone and hadn't missed us a bit.
All in all, it was a great day.
